I help family caregivers turn self-advocacy into better caregiving.
Self-Care > Other Care
Caregiving for a sick loved one is a multilayered journey, where emotional, physical, emotional, social, and financial health intersect. Yet, our healthcare and other systems often overlook the diverse realities caregivers face. I’ve been a full-time caregiver for a parent after a stroke and heart attack, while simultaneously managing my own complex medical needs. I’m also a health professional with training in aging, biology, and religion. I draw from my personal experiences and my professional expertise to offer simple strategies for filling, rather than emptying, your tank so that your best self can help others be theirs.

“Jacob is like a Swiss army knife of caregiving. My husband was debilitated by a stroke to the point of total dependence, and Jacob helped me navigate his ongoing medical needs. He then helped arrange rehab and home care; he helped me connect with an attorney to update all legal documentation; he helped me in the process of selling my house; and he helped me in arranging transport for my incapacitated husband to our new home several hours away. If you have caregiving questions or concerns, contact Jacob. He’s got answers.”
