I speak about navigating unplanned challenges with clarity and composure. I’m 2-0 vs. open-heart surgery and I’ve been a full-time caregiver for a family member confronted with an unexpected and sudden health crisis. I draw from these experiences, and my versatile background in the sciences and theology, to offer practical wisdom that resonates with anyone who has faced challenging, often unplanned, major life transitions. You already have the tools to face these challenges. My goal is to help you confidently use those tools when it matters most.
Many life transitions catch us off guard, but in these circumstances you have more autonomy and agency than you might realize. In this talk I provide actionable strategies to power up your skills of self-advocacy, assertiveness, and critical thinking in order to navigate unexpected detours. Own your life, not the other way around.
There’s a reason they tell you on airplanes to put on your own oxygen mask before you help anyone else. In this talk I provide strategies for filling, rather than emptying, your tank so that your best self can help others be theirs. Your health, caregiving, and career responsibilities don’t have to define you.
Health is not merely individualistic, medical, local, and now. It’s impossible to achieve optimal wellness without approaching it from multiple perspectives – even if your medical providers don’t. In this talk I provide strategies for applying 4-dimensional critical thinking to enhance both your health and your healthcare experience.
